Kathy DiMuccio (Miss Kathy)
Kathy is a native of State College (maiden name Oelbermann). She graduated from Penn State in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development. While in college, Kathy was a member of the Phyrst Phamly sing-a-long band and she began to develop a solo repertoire as a singer/guitarist. She spent the next ten years in Washington DC and San Francisco areas working full time and performing music part time in various clubs and restaurants. Upon returning to State College in 1990, Kathy was part of a jazz/swing trio called A Train that performed at the Central Pa. Festival of the Arts and various private functions.
Kathy turned her musical attentions to preschoolers in 1996 and she taught music classes at both the YMCA and at various preschools throughout State College. She became a registered Music Together® instructor in June of 2004 and opened Music Together of State College in the fall of 2004. She has two teenage daughters and her husband Fred works at Penn State. Kathy plays the guitar, banjo, and the baritone ukulele. She sings as a cantor in church and enjoys leading sing-a-longs in retirement, nursing, and assisted living facilities. She is a self-taught musician who comes from a family of performing musicians. |

Rene' Oakman (Miss Rene')
Rene' Oakman (maiden name Rene' Campbell) has been a professional musician since 1985. She has performed locally as a solo singer/songwriter and has been in numerous band ensembles ranging from duets to a touring 9-piece R&B review. She has performed at various venues across the east coast including Philadelphia Riverfront Blues Festival, Atlanta, GA, Chapel Hill, NC, and more. Rene' has four years of formal voice instruction and music theory. Currently, Rene' is involved in the music ministries at Grace Lutheran Church. She is also the Sunday school and Bible school music leader at Grace.
Rene' and her husband Jason reside in Bellefonte and have four children, two of whom Rene' homeschools. Rene' has a love for children’s music and a creative spirit just perfect for the Music Together program. |
